Ikea Grand Opening: The brand new Ikea store opened their doors this week in Merriam, Kansas off I-35 at Johnson Drive. Ikea is known for their low-priced furniture (and Swedish meatballs!). Croft employee Justine Reece visited the store and recounts her experience. She highly recommends trying out the Swedish meatball meal at the restaurant located in the upper floor, just be sure to stop at one of the kiosks to get an “Ikea Family” discount card first to get the discount prices. The store dedicates the rest of the upper floor to showrooms, including 3 different showrooms that are set up to show how to decorate for small houses. The bottom floor houses smaller items, like bedding, lighting and kitchenware. There is also a large warehouse that holds a self-service area to pick out large furniture pieces as seen in the showrooms. A food market and bistro are located after the checkouts. The store also provides a daycare/play area for a more convenient kid-free shopping experience. If you want to learn more, go to info.ikea-usa.com/merriam/.
