Weekends in KC: November 7-9

Seize the day by enjoying one of the many events happening in Kansas City over the weekend.

Veterans Day Tribute: Honor our veterans Sunday at the Truman Library. Explore the Truman Library and Museum for free from noon to 5pm. From 1:30-2pm enjoy a patriotic concert before The Honorable Ike Skelton Veterans Day Ceremony at 3pm. Following the ceremony, a presidential wreath laying and 21 gun salute at President Truman’s gravesite will occur. After this moving ceremony will be a reception hosted by the City of Independence. Visit www.trumanlibrary.org for more details.

Walking with Dinosaurs: Travel back in time to when the dinosaurs roamed the earth this weekend at the Sprint Center. This amazing show features 20 life-sized dinosaurs retelling the story of the 200 million years dinosaurs ruled the earth. Young and old alike will be thrilled by this $20,000,000 spectacle, so don’t miss out. Order your tickets from www.sprintcenter.com.

First Fridays: Head down to the Crossroads Arts District for First Fridays. Every first Friday of the month, the Crossroads becomes one of the nation’s largest art walks. The many galleries of the Crossroads open their doors from 6 to 9pm, and many of the local restaurants offer drink and appetizer specials.
