Kansas City Chalk & Walk Festival
Watch as the sidewalks of Kansas City’s Crown Center are transformed with beautiful chalk art at the Kansas City Chalk & Walk Festival. Hundreds of professional, student, and amateur artists will “paint” the sidewalks for the 7th year of the festival. Free chalk will be provided for children to make their own art as well. Admission to the festival is free, but donations and sponsorship are always welcome. Donations go to support arts education programs for schools and shelters around the metro area. The festival occurs September 6, 2014 and September 7,2014. Discover more at www.kcchalkandwalk.org.
Head down to the Crossroads Arts District for First Fridays. Every first Friday of the month, the Crossroads becomes one of the nation’s largest art walks. The many galleries open their doors from 6 to 9pm, and many of the local restaurants offer drink and appetizer specials. To get a more detailed list of events, go to www.kccrossroads.org.
